Finance blogger says 150,000 units ordered after three days

iPad pre-orders on target

Pre-sales orders for the iPad look set to meet analysts predictions of 2.2 million sold in 2010, despite a significant drop in orders after the first day.

According to Macworld, a blogger-analyst, identified as Daniel Tello, has calculated that orders from Apple’s online store totalled just over 150,000 after 60 hours on pre-sale, his research did not include pre-orders made directly with Apple’s retail outlets.

“With three weeks and two weekends left before they ship, I wouldn’t expect much more than half a million in pre-orders and reservations,” said Tello. “My best guess, although very tentative given the early stage and few data we have so far, would be that they hit the 1 million unit milestone by the second week after it ships.”
