OEM doesn?t see high demand, adopts a ?wait and see? approach

Sapphire unconvinced by 3D graphics

AMD original equipment manufacturer Sapphire has said that it remains cautious about adopting 3D display technology.

Talking to PCR, Sapphire’s global PR director Bill Donnelly said that it’s still too early to unequivocally embrace 3D display, and that the market is not yet mature.

“There’s been a couple of fairly convincing demonstrations of it, but we’re not quite ready to make it realistic enough and immersive enough, I don’t think,” stated Donnelly. “It could come in the future but it’s early days. There are always early adopters of any technology, but we haven’t seen much interest from the hardcore yet.”
