The display market will begin to grow again after several years in decline, some of the channel’s leading distributors have said.
Mark Lynch, product manager for displays at VIP, told PCR that while demand for monitors is smaller than five to ten years ago, this could turn around.
“I predict that will change in the consumer market in the next couple of years. We are seeing a big trend in the movement to video content from YouTube to iPlayer, and people don’t want to watch on small screens so monitors are ideal for that,” he said.
Chris Parker, marketing manager at Spire, added that the growing popularity of notebooks has provided an additional customer base for displays. “Many people connect their laptops to a second monitor for increased productivity,” he said.
