The EMEA Channel Academy Awards 2010 saw around a thousand executives from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa descend on the Chapiteau de Fontvielle in Monaco, for an evening of lavish entertainment and pan-continental networking.
Signalling the end of Distree XXL, the awards were voted for on the night by attendees, and had a wider remit than that of the show floor, with the likes of Microsoft, Acer, HP and Apple named as finalists even if they did not have a very public presence at Distree itself.
Microsoft and Ingram Micro both stood out in their respective categories, winning multiple awards each.
During the ceremony, an impressive array of entertainment was put on – including some acrobatic roller skaters, jazz singers, the ‘human flag’, and the ‘human frog’.
