Retailer to bring software service to UK stores this February

Tesco to launch in-store software publishing

Tesco has signed a deal with Tribeka to bring its SoftWide service to its stores in the UK.

SoftWide is an in-store manufacturing system that allows customers to order a product on a screen on the shop floor. The data is then burned on to a disk and packaged with in the premises and delivered to the customer in five minutes.

Starting in February, the scheme will initially launch with a wide range of PC software and is expected to expand to include other digital media categories over time.

“Tesco is a fantastic partner for us with a first-rate digital media approach; we are very excited about the opportunities to become part of this strategy,” commented Tribeka’s CEO Daniel Doll-Steinberg.

Tribeka has already successfully deployed SoftWide with various retailers across the globe, including Carrefour, Fuji, Big W, Game, Microsoft and PC Spezialist.
