Both new packages run twice as fast as previous editions

AVG releases business security software duo

AVG Technologies has released two new software packages for small businesses –Internet Security Business Edition 9.0 and Anti-Virus Business Edition 9.0.

According to AVG, the two products scan systems up to 50 per cent faster than previous versions.

The combined anti-virus and anti-spyware scanner uses intelligent technology to mark files as safe or potentially unsafe during its initial scan, so it can ignore them later unless the file structure changes.

The two packages also use signature-based protection to deal with known threats, as well as cutting-edge behavioural, in-the-cloud and white listing technologies to manage threats.

The updated firewall application is quieter and less intrusive than previous versions. The new trusted application database enables the software to determine the safety of any active process and block those deemed unsafe, without user intervention. AVG also says the firewall offers more accurate threat detection, thanks to unique behavioural detection technology.

Thanks to AVG’s recent acquisition of Sana Security, Internet Security Business Edition 9.0 now has added data protection technology, which learns the DNA of a network so it can recognise anomalies and block malicious software before it can cause any damage. Identity protection is manageable from the administrator’s console or can be completely silent.

Anti-Virus Business Edition 9.0’s new client email scanner cleans the mailing system of dangerous attachment links, while the enhanced anti-spam filter prevents phishing emails and spam from clogging the server.
