Retailer shuts Surrey-based B2B operation as 'part of transformation programme'

DSGi confirms closure of Equanet’s Surbiton branch

PCR can confirm DSGI has closed the Surbiton branch of its Equanet business – part of the retailer’s specialist B2B arm – resulting in the loss of 18 jobs.

The firm told PCR the move is part of an ongoing transformation of its B2B operations, which will "deliver an efficient, more customer-focused organisation that will sustain the business for future growth."

All customer accounts currently handled by the defunct site will be redeployed to the Borehamwood and Bury offices. Meanwhile, the staff of the Surbiton branch have been offered a 30-day consultation period, during which time they will be able to apply for other vacancies with the group.

"We will work closely with these employees and offer a full range of support, including career and placement consultation," said a spokesperson for the firm.
