As a plethora of new products are launched each month, we took a look at some of what October had to offer.

ViewSonic and mobile phone vendor Nokia made their first forays into the netbook market. Nokia launched the Booklet 3G, and ViewSonic introduced the entry level VNB100 and the higher end VNB101.

Samsung, meanwhile, expanded its N-Series of netbooks and launched a new line of notebooks called the X-Series.

Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad X200 Tablet PC and the ThinkPad T400s laptop, both with multitouch technology, which is also an optional addition on the new ThinkPad X200 Tablet.

Logitech introduced two new laser pointers for the business market. The R800 has a green laser specially designed to work on LCD screens and well-lit rooms, while the lower end R400 has a red laser which is visible on most backgrounds.

Sitecom launched its new ‘Smart Living’ range of connectivity and storage products for facilitating easy data sharing among multiple devices.

Asus began a new branding drive for its motherboard range. All products introduced over the next 12 months will be labelled with the ‘Xtreme Design’ tagline.
