O2's exclusivity ends later this year

Orange UK wins iPhone and 3GS deal

Orange UK has secured a deal to sell Apple’s iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in the UK from later this year.

The handsets will be sold in all Orange’s direct retail channels, including shops, online store and telesales outlets. The company also said "selected high street partners" will be selling the device, but didn’t specify who.

The deal brings to an end O2’s exclusive on the handsets, as predicted by leading mobile site ME last month, which revealed that O2’s exclusivity period officially ends on 6th October.
