Apple has signed a deal with state-owned network operator China Unicom that will see its iPhone devices officially launched in to the Chinese market for the first time.
According to the BBC, China has over 600 million mobile phone accounts, although the market currently hosts a fair percentage of jail-broken iPhones already.
“We believe China Unicom’s high-speed mobile broadband network, coupled with the iPhone will create new communication and different experiences for customers in China,” said China Unicom’s chairman Chang Xiaobin.
