Warrington-based firm to become sole distributor for new GeForce 3D Vision kit

VIP secures exclusive Nvidia deal

VIP has secured exclusive distribution rights to Nvidia’s new 3D Vision Kit, with the firm describing it as gaming’s biggest launch of 2009.

The technology, which brings on-screen characters and environments ‘to life’, is Nvidia’s latest move to retain its title of leading graphics vendor. The kit requires a standard gaming PC, with a GeForce 9800GT graphics card or better to work. It also requires a monitor capable of running at 120Hz.

According to the vendor, over 300 games already work with the technology, meaning gamers won’t have to spend out hundreds of pounds replacing their collection of titles. The kit has already garnered much praise from the media, with Sky News saying it was ‘blown away’ and PC Mag saying it was a ‘truly mind-blowing innovation’.

VIP has said that it will be making the kit available to the channel from May 1st, but only to those who have a secured allocation of 120Hz Samsung monitors.

"As anyone who has tried them out will tell you, Nvidia’s GeForce 3D Vision glasses are the biggest thing to happen to gaming in 2009," commented product manager at VIP, Matt Parrish. "We’re delighted that VIP has been named as the exclusive distribution partner for Northern Europe."

Nvidia said that it would be working with VIP to bring the technology to channel. "3D Vision is empowering a new consumer 3D stereo ecosystem for gaming and home entertainment computers," said the vendor’s distribution marketing manager Caroline Bunclark.

"This technology is very highly anticipated and we’re working with VIP to bring a new level of immersion to Northern European consumers’ PC experience."
