Analyst says the road to recovery is a long one but the first signs of growth are here

Gartner: Demand for electronics may recover in Q4

Gartner has stated that the IT channel will see a re-emergence of consumer demand later this year, after industry production has bottomed out for many sectors.

According to MacWorld, the majority of the IT industry remains in decline, however, once the markets have hit bottom, growth can begin again.

“The bottoming of PC-related production is breathing the first signs of hope into the electronics supply chain," said Gartner analyst Klaus Rinnen. “Still, the majority of the industry will not bottom until the third quarter of 2009.”

Gartner believes that once the industry has seen its low point, growth can be expected again in early 2010, and full recovery could take up to two years.
