Staff blame lack of advertising for low customer interest

O2 fails to support sales

Staff at O2 have claimed that slow sales of its mobile broadband and laptop packages were due to a lack of advertising, according to Mobile News.

O2 has been offering a choice of a Samsung NC10 or R510 with its 3GB and 10GB mobile broadband packages since the end of February, however consumer interest is reported to be low.

“No one knows about the offers in store, so they are not coming in,” said a staff member. “Our new prepay promotion has had a lot of interest, and it seems O2 is happy to concentrate on that instead for now.”

Another staff member commented: “O2 expected all stores to be sold out by midday, this certainly never happened and the weekend was just as bad.”
