Lenovo acquires Switchbox Labs

Lenovo has completed an acquisition of consumer technology developer Switchbox Labs for an undisclosed sum, reports CRN.

The deal will see Switchbox’s portfolio integrated in to Lenovo’s, with both companies keeping quiet about what’s in development.

Former Microsoft executive and Switchbox co-founder Michael Sievert has been appointed as senior vice president, reporting directly to Lenovo CEO William Amelio.

“Innovation is the lifeblood of our company,” said Amelio. “Switchbox Labs is doing some interesting work and we are pleased that Switchbox and Mike are joining Lenovo.”
