iSuppli has said that 2008 will go down as ‘a year to forget’ for memory chip suppliers, after several of the world’s largest manufactures saw their ranking slip due to lack of demand and falling prices.
Intel managed to retain its position at the top of iSuppli’s Top 20 rankings chart, managing to grow revenues, albeit by 0.4 per cent. However, the new was much worse for second placed Samsung, seeing its revenues plunge by 9.1 per cent.
AMD saw itself fall one place to 11th, while Nvidia once again propped the Top 20 up.
