Will renew your laptop every three years

FSC introduces ?laptops for life?

Fujitsu-Siemens Computers is offering a scheme that will keep customers supplied with laptops for the rest of their lives.

The Lifebook programme is subject to a mandatory three-year warranty and following this period, the laptop can be exchanged for another computer with ‘like-for-like’ specifications.

According to the fine print: “The replacement Lifebook value will be determined by the original purchase price shown on the invoice, increased by ten per cent every three years.

“For example; a Lifebook purchased for £1000 today would be exchanged for a model with a recommended retail price not exceeding £1100 in three years time.”

On March 31st 2009, FSC will become part of Fujitsu as Siemens have sold its stake in the company. Once this happens, there is “around 99.9 per cent certainty this promotion will be carried in the new company,” according to the Inquirer.
