Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of Microsoft has said that while the IT sector is not immune to the turmoil in the wider economy, people “still see a certain buoyancy in the market.”
According to Marketwatch, virtualization, smartphone software and on-demand software are key areas that Ballmer wants Microsoft to focus on, while making the company’s online advertising business profitable and shaking Google from its number one spot in that sector.
“If anyone is going to provide competition to Google I think Microsoft is in a good position to do that,” he said.
