Boost fuelled by sales of low-cost PCs

SSD sees ?explosive growth?

Memory chip giant Samsung has announced three new solid-state drives after the sector has experienced “explosive growth.”

The firm went on to predict 57 per cent year-on-year growth until 2011.

Much of this growth has been attributed to a massive boost in demand for low-cost notebooks such as the EeePC, which is expected to sell five million units this year.
