Leipzig 2008: Sony to handle sister organisation Sony Online Entertainment's PS3 and PC titles

SCEE moves into PC publishing

SCEE is to move into PC games publishing via the distribution of its Sony Online Entertainment division’s new titles, the firm has just announced at Leipzig’s Game Convention event.

New MMOs The Agency, DC Universe Online, and Free Realms, all of which are being designed for PC and PS3 – although feature no cross-platform play – are the games to first head out.

The move follows the integration of SOE into the SCE business earlier this year – previously Sony Online Entertainment was a division of Sony Pictures.

The news comes on the same day that the PC Gaming Association’s president Randy Stude said that the PC gaming industry was worth $10.7 billion (£5.8 billion).
