Chip giant shuts down Israel research centre, allegedly in line with stricter processor focus

Intel closes another R&D site

Intel will close down the R and D centre in Yokne’am, Israel – which some are claiming is indicative of the firm’s plan keep a tighter focus on processors in the future.

The firm sold another Israel based R and D centre in Petah Tikva in 2006, resulting in thousands of job cuts.

The smaller number of employees from the Yokne’am operation will be transferred to other sites in the country.
