Despite stable sales of $14.5 billion, Microsoft’s third quarter profits have fallen 11 per cent to $4.39 billion.
Though a significant drop compared to the same period last year (three months to March 31st) the figures actually beat market expectations.
The firm’s Office and business applications division took a hit due to falling public demand, while a $1.42 billion fine from the European Commission also contributed to the lower profits.
