China: Firm opens up concession in Shanghai Best Buy and plans two Beijing stores

Apple strengthens Asian presence

Apple has strengthen its presence in China following the opening of its first store-in-store concession in Best Buy’s Shanghai store, with plans for two standalone stores emerging.

Speaking about the move to China Tech News, Best Buy China’s marketing director Zeng Yaozu said that it was the Xuhui outlet that had sold the most Apple stock out of all of the country’s stores and: that’s why Apple has decided to upgrade the cooperation with Best Buy and open this store-in-store."

The concession takes up around 540 sq ft of the store and will carry Apple’s full rang of Macs, iPods, as well as being staffed by two full time Apple technical consultants.

Beijing will the first city in China to receive Apple’s own-branded stores with two outlets planned for the Sanlitun and Qianmen areas.
