Ingram brings VMware to Nordics

Ingram Micro has signed a deal with VMware to bring its virtualisation software to the Nordics.

The deal, which will complement the distributor’s existing deals with the vendor I Germany, North America and Australia, will allow reseller customers in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway the opportunity to sell VMware virtualisation solutions.

"We are pleased to add VMware’s full range of virtualization solutions from the desktop to the data center to our Value Add portfolio," said Magnus Högvall, managing director Ingram Micro Nordic Region. "By working with VMware, Ingram Micro makes virtualization accessible to customers of all sizes in the Nordics.

"Through this agreement, Ingram Micro’s resellers will be able to offer their customers virtualisation solutions that can contribute to reduced operating costs, improved security, assured business continuity and reduced carbon emissions," he added.

"At VMware we recognise the value of channel relationships and the ability to proliferate virtualization through close collaboration with the right distribution partners," added Lewis Gee, vice president for Northern Europe at VMware.

“Our customers value VMware virtualization solutions for their superior functionality, unsurpassed reliability, and enormous cost-saving benefits.

"Ingram Micro’s distribution in the Nordics, as elsewhere, brings these benefits to a much wider range of customers, especially to the extensive SMB reseller base Ingram commands in this region."
