Sales up 37 per cent on a like-for-like basis as Europe drives growth

Adobe experiences bumper Q1 revenues

Strong sales of Adobe’s Creative Suite 3 in Europe helped the publisher to deliver a bumper first quarter revenue of $890.4 million (£420 million), up 37 per cent on the same time last year.

"Driving our strong performance in Q1 was continued demand for our Creative Suite 3 family of products," said Adobe’s president and chief executive officer Shantanu Narayen (pictured). "As the proliferation of digital content accelerates, customers worldwide are looking to Adobe for solutions that enable the rich, engaging experiences across a variety of media and devices.

"Mac revenue for our CS3 product continues to be solid, and as expected, the Design Standard and Design Professional suites continue to be the leading suites in terms of mix."

Sales of its video software also experienced strong growth, with the division growing by 20 per cent on a like-for-like basis.

Speaking about the strong sales in Europe, Narayen added: "We are seeing quite a bit of traction of our products in Eastern Europe as those countries enter the European Union."
