Dell claims Asia will boost operation, while Yuanqing states firm unaffected by US economy

Dell and Lenovo expect beyond-average growth in 2008

Both Dell and Lenovo has stated that they expect their growth to exceed the industry average during 2008.

Speaking at a conference earlier today, Dell’s CEO Michael Dell told assembled press that: "We expect to continue to grow faster than the industry, particularly in Asia."

The comment follows similar claims from Lenovo’s CFO Huang Weiming on Monday at the firm’s shareholder’s meeting.

Yang Yuanqing, president of Lenovo had said last week that the current problems affecting the US economy were unlikely to affect his company as its main growth areas were in Europe and Asia.
