Growth boosted by launch of Leopard

Apple increases OS share

Apple has seen its market share in the OS sector to 6.81 per cent, thanks in part to the launch of Leopard two months ago, according to the latest research from Net Applications.

The figures point to a slow down in market share at the beginning of October, with it increasing once the new OS hit retail – increasing the company’s market share up 3.34 per cent during the month.

Interestingly, Apple’s iPhone OS recorded a 0.09 per cent share of the market, while Sony’s PlayStation 3 recorded 0.02 per cent of the market, the Wii 0.01 per cent and Sun’s OS recorded 0.01 per cent.
