Microsoft has released a new version of the beta for its eagerly anticipated first Vista service pack

Vista SP1 beta evolves

An updated Vista SP1 beta has been released. The first beta was released to testers in September, which Microsoft claimed sped up a number of processes when running Vista.

The new beta is not available as an upgrade on the previous one, however, so testers will have to uninstall the first one and then replace it with this 434MB one. Fun!

SP1 is generally expected to make an appearing by early January, although sceptics maintain that it’s just a collection of the numerous patches that have been released since the launch of Vista. Nonetheless, B2B resellers especially will be keeping a cole eye on it as the majority of business cutomers have been waiting for SP1 before they consider upgrading from XP.
