Data leak firm snapped up by security vendor

Trend Micro swoops for Provilla

Trend Micro has purchased data leak prevention firm Provilla, expanding the security vendor’s business beyond its traditional antivirus and content security markets.

Provillia’s technology is designed to allow firms to mitigate against the sensitive data such as client content details and customer payment information being leaked.

Trend Micro has said that it will continue to offer the software as a stand-alone product but will also incorporate it into its packages.

It was not said how much Trend Micro paid for the software vendor.
