Kingston maintains lead of DRAM market

iSuppli has announced the results of research into state of the DRAM market, revealing that Kingston has increased its already substantial market share to 18.1 per cent – up from 16.7 in 2005.

The result means that the memory supplier maintains its lead over its nearest competitor, Smart Modular of over 300% with over all sales reaching $2.2 billion. It was also good news for TwinMOS who leaped from 13th place to 5th.

The revenue figures however don’t include flash and certain OEM business revenues.

With Kingston turning 20 later this year, it’s continued success is likely to form a large part of its cause for celebrations.
