More Tesco stores to sell own-brand utility software

TescoSoft expands

The roll-out of Tesco’s own-brand software has stepped up a pace with more than 200 new stores set to have product on shelves by the end of this week.

The Tesco Software range was launched in October last year and introduced to around 150 of the supermarket giant’s stores. Since then, some 25,000 units have been sold, according to Tesco, leading the grocer to increase the number of stores stocking the line-up to 365.

To coincide with the expansion of the range, Tesco is adding the titles to its Back To School special offer, allowing consumers to buy one and get one free.

Off the six products in the range, Tesco Antivirus has been the best-seller, followed by Tesco Internet Security and Tesco Complete Office. More titles are now being lined up by partner Formjet, for release later this year.

“Demand for home computing equipment is bigger than ever, which is why we decided to launch a choice of great value Tesco own range software,” said buyer Daniel Cook.

“We’re delighted that the range has proved such a hit, and in response to this demand we’re increasing the total number of stores where customers can pick up the popular software.”
