Mozilla to focus on latest versions of Internet Explorer-rivalling browser

Support ends for Firefox 1.5

Users of Firefox 1.5, the previous version of Mozilla’s popular internet browser, have been told that following the most recent update to the software there will be no further support for the product.

The Inquirer reports that in the next few weeks, 1.50 users will be prompted to download the 1.5.0.12 version, which itself integrates software designed to allow users to upgrade to the more recent Firefox 2.0.

Basil Hashem, director at Firefox’s parent company Mozilla, says that consumers will be urged to upgrade – with security being a top priority, 1.5 users might find themselves vulnerable once technical support is pulled.
