Hewlett Packard posts quarterly earnings of £900m

Record sales on the cards for HP

Strong sales of laptops, printers and servers have helped global PC manufacturer Hewlett Packard post earnings of $1.78 billion for the quarter ending April 30th.

Sales for the period were up 13 per cent, reaching $25.53 billion. Whilst the figure is slightly down on last year’s earnings of $1.9 billion for the same period, HP is predicting record sales of $100 billion this year.

"These guys have put together an amazing turnaround of a company that was pretty screwed up and is now moving in the right direction," senior research analyst for Robert W Baird & Co Daniel Renouard told the BBC.
