Massive growth for HP in Asia

Californian based computing giant Hewlett-Packard’s says that its shipments in Asia are growing at twice the market growth rate in that region.

Asian sales for HP’s Personal Systems Group are growing at about 36 per cent – double the 18 percent rate for the region’s overall PC market, said Chin Hon Cheng, an Asia-Pacific operations executive.

"Some countries are growing at more than twice (the pace of the market), but generally, as an average, we are growing at twice," Chin told Reuters.

HP’s personal-computer business made up about a third of the company’s $94.1 billion total revenue for the four fiscal quarters ending in January.
