UK graphics newbie ECS has appointed Enta as its first UK VGA distributor.

ECS takes on Enta

The appointment is a statement of ECS’ strategy to gain market share in the UK by recruiting new resellers. ECS’ VGA portfolio covers entry level to high end enthusiasts’ requirements.

ECS manufacturers its own components and as result claims to be able to react to changes in the market much faster than many of its customers, thus helping them to help stay one step ahead in the fast paced market place.

"We are very excited about the new relationship and how it will increase our channel presence, we hope to capitalize on the experience of Enta and create a competitive edge within the fast moving VGA market place," said Jennifer Lin, European VGA sales manager at ECS.

"Within the UK there are very few focused and driven distributors of components," she added. "With Enta’s continued growth, reputation and financial stability it was an easy decision for us to acknowledge Enta as an authorised distributor."

"Enta represents both Nvidia and ATI with its respective partners and is one of only 6 authorised Nvidia partners," said Jon Atherton, group vice president at Enta Group. "With our current success selling Nvidia graphics we acknowledged that another brand was needed for us to expand our portfolio to highlight our commitment to Nvidia and our continued growth within the graphics market."

"In the past, the key markets for graphics cards have mostly been system integrators and enthusiasts," he continued. "Now, with the introduction of Vista and HD etc, for the first time graphics cards are becoming mass consumer commodities. The fantastic price/performance ratio that we can offer to our customers means we expect the cards will be very easy to sell."
