CHANNEL EXPO 2007: Taiwan based connectivity products comany, Aten has revealed its plans to push into the UK channel over the next two years.

Aten’s two year plan

After setting up business in the UK last September, Aten today told PC Retail of its plans to further penetrate the UK connectivity market by building distributor relationships in the UK.

Aten said that it is in preliminary negotiations with big name UK distributors such as Ingram Micro and Midwich, which it hopes will facilitate its UK expansion.

"This is a new beginning for us here in the UK," Aten’s operation manager Yilin Liao told PC Retail. "We are strong in the switch sector, we are the biggest medium range KVM manufacturor in the world. We are very confident about our product because we give good margins. Worldwide, we are one of the top three Enterprise providers, but we want to form new relationships with UK distributors so as to be as successful in the UK market as well."

Aten says that within two years it would like to be a major player in the Uk connectivity market. "We would like to work with Ingram Micro and Midwich immediately, and in one to two years we would like to be in a good market position in the SOHO and enterprise market," continued Liao. "We have 25 years worldwide experience and we want to bring that knowledge to the UK."

At the stand, Aten was showing off its flagship VS881 eight port video link (pictured) which it estimates will retail for around £66 in th UK. Also on show was the medium range KVM SOHO CS1732A aimed at the consumer market, the brand new DVI supporting CS17621 and the patented CS62A and CS62B KVM cable switches.
