Microsoft has teamed up with distributor VIP to bring attention to its Genuine Advantage anti-piracy initiative.

Anti-piracy partnership in Xbox giveaway

As of last May customers have been required confirm their PCs are running genuine Windows software in order to receive all uploads and downloads from Microsoft.

VIP has set up a dedicated website designed to prevent its visitors from being victims of counterfeit software, which provides detailed information and user tips relating to Windows genuine advantage.

The two companies have also decided to further incentivise people to visit the site by dangling the carrott of a shiny new Xbox 360. The games console will go to one of the people who correctly answer the daytime TV-style easy question, which can be found in the June issue of PC Retail as well as on the site.
