The show is the only UK expo of its kind, says new event manager as the countdown begins

TRS ready to welcome you

now just a few months away, PC Retail was granted an exclusive interview with the new event manager of the UK’s premier technology trade show, Michael Blackhurst, who was keen to
emphasise the event’s importance.
“The TRS is the annual meeting place for the PC and consumer electronics retailer community,” he said, “and is the only UK exhibition of its kind allowing visitors to view the
latest products, network with peers and learn more about maximising business potential. Our aim for 2006 is to continue to ensure that the event provides everything retailers need under one roof.”
With most of the year’s main technology announcements coming at CES and CeBIT, the TRS (combined with CTS and Comms Channel Expo) comes at the ideal time for UK retailers to capitalise on the latest buzz in the market. “Not only does the event allow visitors to witness the latest products first hand,” continued Blackhurst, “it provides a valuable industry networking opportunity. We feel that this aspect is crucial and are currently developing a networking tool which can be accessed via our website to make this process even easier.
“Exhibitions are still the most efficient way to meet vendors; face to face communication is one of the most effective ways of viewing and selecting products. TRS is the UK’s only event dedicated to the retailer community, allowing visitors to select the right products and partnerships.”
What will this year’s event have to offer? “TRS will feature around 40 vendors on the showfloor, with names such as Interactive Ideas, Pinpoint, ULead, Avid Technology and Widget UK, with many of the top distributors showcasing the leading brands,” said Blackhurst. “In addition to the showfloor exhibition, visitors can take advantage of the free educational programme. Sessions will focus on both commercial and product led issues. The Reseller Forum theatre will be of particular interest to PC Retail readers. Playing host to commercial strategies from leading independent consultants such as Canalys, Wright Associates, Vantis and euroLAN, the Forum aims to help visitors maximise their business potential.”
PC Retail will be working closely with Blackhurst and his team both for the build-up and during the shows to ensure readers have the best experience. If you have any questions about the shows, please contact any member of the team.
