SOFTWARE giant Adobe is
supporting the launch of the latest
versions of Photoshop and Premiere
Elements with a renewed call to
retailers to work in partnership with it.
The Elements range is targeted at
consumers and has proved as popular
as Adobe?s professional applications.
To help retailers demonstrate
the features of the software
to consumers, Adobe is
promoting its ?Complete
This is designed for
independents and offers free
training for retailers and any
customers they wish to invite.
Photoshop Elements 4.0 is
the latest refinement of the best
selling photo editing package. A focus
has been placed on the automation of
tedious, repetitive tasks, with one
example being the ability to
automatically remove ?red-eye? from
photos during the process of
downloading them onto your PC.
Similar improvements have been
made in the Premiere Elements 2.0
video editing package, with the
emphasis again being on ease of use
and speeding up of routine processes.
The launch is being supported by
an intense advertising campaign in
the photographic and IT press.
Additionally Adobe is on a drive to
recruit independent retailers to its
Complete Picture programme.
It offers support in the form of
demonstration software, POS
materials and visibility on the Adobe
website. Each product is expected to
retail at ?70, with the dual bundle
As an additional incentive, it is also
offering product training, as described
by John Bedford, the firm?s digital
imaging marketing manager for
?Adobe realises that within the
current market conditions
independent retailers often require a
?value-add? to help close the deal with
potential customers. Therefore Adobe
is happy to offer free training to the
retailer and their customers. The offer
is restricted to independent retailers
who can bring up to five customers.
The training will be held at Stockley
Park and will be around specific days
