Huang believes firms may start to make money again soon as prices increase
The worst is over. That was the message from the chairman of DRAM vendor Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation Frank Huang, as he spoke out over the recent rises in spot pricing.
He told Digitimes' Josephine Lien that he believes the price of 1GB of DDR is likely to stabilise at $2 in May and that if the price can surpass $2.50, PSC will begin to see a profit.
He added that all vendors – with the exception of Samsung – had suffered greatly from the downturn but that recent reviews of practice would leave firms in better shape once prices recovered.
