Utopia announces key employee promotions

Utopia Computers has announced two recent promotions. Barry Kennedy, Chief Technologist at Utopia, with over 12 years of experience with the firm has been promoted to Purchasing Executive. This role will see Kennedy take ownership of key purchasing decisions at a key time for Utopia’s growth as well as operations, including system pricing, design and future model roadmap.

Ryan Brown, former Head System Builder at Utopia, with 10 years of experience in the firm is now full-time Marketing Executive. Brown will be responsible for brand, marketing campaigns, vendor relationships and User Experience, especially with Utopia’s fastest-growing customer base, the creative industry.

“Barry and Ryan’s promotions reflect Utopia’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent,” said Craig Hume, Utopia Managing Director.

“We have built a high performing team that has drawn together a cool mix of the right people with the rights skills, values and vision. Meaning the task of retaining and recognising success is an easy one for me. Barry and Ryan personify Utopia’s highest standards. They’re committed team players who have consistently developed new ideas and strategies that exceed my expectations while growing our business.”

Hume continued, “with our former Marketing Director’s recent move to a non-exec role at Utopia it created space for the team to grow and these two talented guys jumped at the opportunity. I’m very excited to announce these promotions today. I firmly believe it has placed Utopia in a very enviable position to continue to grow as the UK’s most loved custom PC builder.”

Barry Kennedy added, “Utopia’s achievements over the last decade have been as a direct result of our culture, innovation and self-belief. When some have looked at what Utopia was trying they doubted it could be done, but the team here have kept their eyes on the vision and I truly believe this next year will be Utopia’s finest, with a growing team, our new store opening in the coming weeks and a new website launching next year I could not be more delighted at the chance to take Utopia to the next level.” Ryan adds “Being in the IT industry for 10 years, I’ve seen trends come and go. Utopia’s success comes from being at the forefront of them. We are great at adapting and thrive in challenging environments. This year has been just that! Our charismatic and strong self-belief has led us to a fantastic year and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for Utopia in 2021.”
