MCM Comic Con to close festival

Ukie reveals London Games Festival details

The 2012 London Games Festival will take place from September 27th to October 28th.

Organiser Ukie has revealed that the Eurogamer Expo will open the festival at Earl’s Court on September 27th, 28th and 29th. It will be the public’s first opportunity to get their hands on the industry’s key releases.

The first day will close with a Gala event, where GamesAid will be handing out cheques to chosen charities.

Hosted by comedian Russell Kane, the Games Media Awards will take play on October 18th at Vinopolis. Future Publishing’s Joystick Awards will be held on October 26th.

Finally, the LGF will close with the MCM London Comic Con, which will be held at ExCeL between October 26th and 28th. This twice-yearly event brings games together with movies and comics.

“London Games Festival is a real focus for Ukie this year,” says event director Kirsty Payne. “We’re looking to unite the whole industry in a month-long celebration of games and gaming culture, and expect this to be the biggest LGF to date.”
