Urgent need for major restructuring cited by administrator as reason for failure

Maxdata UK enters insolvency

In an unexpected move, German vendor Maxdata has filed for insolvency for the UK division citing the need for major restructuring of the business.

The vendor filed for insolvency on June 25th, with the firm’s administrator Dr Winfred Andres saying in court papers that the firm is in need of "considerable restructuring measures," if the firm is to remain in business.

Maxdata, which manufacturers PCs, notebooks and monitors, had been one of the top ten IT integrators in Europe. The Benelux division will take over responsibilities for the UK during the proceedings.

There is no indications of a possible buyer at this point.
