Group outing to The Social Network was followed by a round of apple martinis

Mark Zuckerberg takes staff to see Facebook movie

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has taken staff to see The Social Network, despite claiming that much of the film is fiction.

A Facebook spokesperson told showbiz trade publication The Hollywood Reporter that Zuckerberg and his employees had gone to a screening of the movie.

"To celebrate a period of intense activity at Facebook, we decided to go to the movies. We thought this particular movie might be amusing," the spokesperson said.

The cinema trip was reportedly followed by a round of apple martinis, the drink enjoyed in the film by Zuckerberg and Napster founder Sean Parker, played by Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake respectively.

The real Zuckerberg had originally said he wouldn’t watch The Social Network, a film about the origins of Facebook, written by The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin. However, he described it as "fun" during a recent appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
