As Computex 2015 comes to a close, we look back on the top stories from the trade show in Taiwan.
New Windows 10 PCs at Computex
A range of vendors unveiled their Windows 10-ready devices, including Asus, Dell and HP. A Compute Plug was also showcased from Quanta, which when plugged into a HDMI port turns a TV into a smart computer.
Asus shows off Intel Skylake PCs
Asus revealed a range of mini-PC prototypes that come equipped with Intel’s new sixth generation processors, dubbed Skylake, which are due to launch later this year.
Nvidia announces new graphics card and G-Sync laptops
Nividia revealed the high-end GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card, which is three times faster than a GTX 680 and comes with 6GB of memory. The chip maker also confirmed that laptops featuring G-Sync technology will be available later this month.
AMD showcases new 6th gen processors
AMD revealed its sixth generation A-series processor for notebooks at Computex, which is Windows 10-ready. It promises to deliver up to twice the battery life than before and features AMD Dual Graphics.
During Computex, Asus unveiled its new transforming robotic PC tower, designed to provide users with direct access to components.
Asus reveals ‘handbag’ style tablet
At Computex the computing vendor unveiled a line up of new devices, including a new smartwatch called the ZenWatch, as well as a hand bag style tablet dubbed the ZenPad 8.
Corsair unveils first full PC
Corsair launched its first living room PC at Computex this year, which features a mini-THX motherboard, a 600-watt power supply and a built-in liquid CPU cooler.
Cooler Master reveals MasterCase and new slogan
The PC accessories vendor has revealed a new customisable MasterCase and a new ‘Make It Yours’ slogan.
Intel backs Thunderbolt USB-C tech
The chip maker announced its new Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable, which will enable 4K video, external graphics and built-in 10 GbE networking. It also revealed new plans for the IoT and unveiled the expansion of the Intel IoT Gateway product family.
MSI teams up with Tobii eye-tracking tech
MSI and Tobii have paired up to create a concept gaming notebook, and are inviting developers to create the next eye-tracking game. Following the notebook, the two companies will be working on other eye-tracking gaming products.
Following criticism of its logo, Corsair has updated its logo with its traditional sails branding. During the show, the company also showcased a new DIY gaming PC.
SanDisk reveals new SSDs and flash drives
SanDisk unveiled its new Extreme 900 Portable SSDs, which the company says are the world’s fastest line up of Type-C based portable SSDs.
Qsan partners with Origin Storage
Qsan will be showcasing its solutions for video storage at Computex 2015 after appointing Origin Storage as its UK distributor.
Golden Best Choice Awards at Computex 2015
The trade show recognised the nine best products from the tech industry, which were presided by a committee of experts from the tech industry, academic community, media groups and government.
The main themes that were covered at this year’s show included the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile applications and the cloud.
