Taiwan based Quanta Computer has warned that the supply of lithium-ion batteries for laptop will be thin for the next few months, after a fire stopped production at an LG Chem battery factory in South Korea. The contract laptop manufacturer also said it would be the smaller firm that would be affected by this, and that the top 10 biggest PC vendors will remain unscathed.
"Big customers won't have problems because they're the first to be served by suppliers," said C.C. Leung, vice chairman and president of Quanta.
