Several Xbox One features will require users to have a £39.99 per year Xbox Live Gold subscription ($59.99 in the US), and an Xbox spokesperson has told PCR that more details will follow after Gamescom.
Microsoft has listed the Xbox Gold-only features on the Xbox.com website for its upcoming console Xbox One.
These include watching NFL in the US (which could possibly be football in the UK), accessing OneGuide, which lets users get a customised view of what’s on TV including trends, and using Skype.
Those who pay £39.99 per year will also have a access to Game DVR – which allows players to record game footage and share it with their friends online – and SmartMatch, which promises to pair gamers up smarter for online matches.
Xbox One owners with Xbox Live Gold will also get the same benefits that current Xbox 360 users receive, such as the ability to play multiplayer games, access premium entertainment apps, view Internet Explorer through their TV and get exclusive offers and discounts.
An Xbox spokesperson told PCR: "At the moment all we’re doing is confirming the Xbox Live Gold features that will be available on Xbox One.
"Certainly not at the moment [we don’t have anything else to add], maybe once we’re outside of Gamescom we can talk a bit more about Gold on Xbox One."
Xbox One launches in the UK this November priced at £429.
