Widget has secured sole distribution rights for Flip Video in the UK, in a move that expands the Stevenage-based firm's grasp on the consumer electronics market.
Flip said that the move to Widget would help it fulfil its plans for the next stage of the brand's development, past the launch period. "We're looking forward to working with Widget on the next phase of our development," commented president of Flip Video EMEA, Ray Sangster.
The vendor was full of praise for Gem, who was its launch distribution partner. "We would like to thank Gem for its support throughout last year and the part it played in our successful UK launch of both the Flip Ultra and the Flip Mino," said Sangster.
The distributor will be using this year's Channel Expo to push the product into new areas, as well as strengthening its position with key accounts, including DSGi, Maplin, Amazon, Play and QVC.
Widget will remain sole distributor when Cisco finalises it purchase of Flip Video's parent company later this year.
