IT distribution Westcoast has pledged to support Microsoft in the firm's Britain Works initiative aimed at supporting the government's goal in creating more jobs in the ICT sector.
Dominic Gill, Apprenticeship Programme Manager at Microsoft, says: "If you are a reseller looking to grow your business then a Microsoft Apprentice could be a cost-effective and valuable addition to your business."
Microsoft's Britain Works scheme enables computer resellers to hire and train qualified Microsoft Certified technical support, sales and development staff with the cost of training being met by the government.
"Westcoast is delighted to be able to support Microsoft on this programme” said Westcoast Marketing chief Phil Bell. "We have ourselves recruited a number of Microsoft apprentices and are very impressed with the programme. We want to raise awareness to our resellers and the channel of the fantastic opportunity that the Britain Works programme represents."
The Britain Works scheme aims to recruit 500 new Microsoft apprentices into the ICT industry.
