WD appoints new VP and senior sales director

WD has appointed Stefan Mandl has its senior sales director for Europe and Russia/CIS for the company’s distribution and OEM sales organisation.

Mandl succeeds Sven Rathjen, who will lead WD’s Network Content Solutions business unit as vice president and general manager.

Mandl has served WD in Europe for ten years in a variety of sales roles, most recently as sales director Europe. Previous to WD, he held various sales roles for hardware and software companies.

Rathjen began working for WD seven years ago as a marketing manager and has since served the company in sales roles, most recently as vice president of sales, Europe and Russia/CIS.

“Stefan brings to his new role a track record of expanding WD’s distribution channel market position in Western Europe by more than 50 per cent, and we look forward to his passion and strategic skills building on the front-running position Sven drove in the channel business across Europe and Russia/CIS,” said Scott Davis, senior vice president of worldwide sales.
