Wal-Mart is considering a move into the technical support sector in an effort to remove what is feels is Best Buy's sole advantage over the world's largest retailer: GeekSquad.Speaking to MarketWatch, senior vice-president at Wal-Mart, Gary Severson said: "We are looking at different options," saying that technical services were an avenue the retailer was investigating, however, he was coy when pressed for further details.
The news comes after the Doug McMillion, president and CEO of Wal-Mart subsidiary Sam's Club said that the retailer could roll out its specialist SMB-focused outlets if the trial it is currently running proved successful.
